Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is one of the oldest and  largest inhabited castles in the world, being currently a working palace.  This castle has been a royal home and fortress for over 900 years.

The State Apartments are decorated with some of the finest works of art in the Royal Collection and include paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Gainsborough and Van Dyck.

St. George's Chapel is located within the walls of the castle, being one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England, whilst also being the burial place of 10 monarchs.

The Queen has increasingly used the castle as a royal palace as well as her weekend home and it is now as often used for state banquets and official entertaining as Buckingham Palace.
