Harming God

Can anyone ever harm God? The Fathers of the Church believe that no one can harm God. St John Chrysostom states that “No one will be able either to injure God with insults or make Him shine more brightly by praise, but He always remains in His appropriate glory, neither increased by praise nor decreased by blasphemy”[1]. On the other hand we can identify that sin does injure humanity; that is why we observe that our existence is ill. The doxology we give to God sanctifies us, allowing us to come into communion with God.
