St. Sebastian and St. Pancras Roman Catholic Church, Harrow, NW London

St. Sebastian and St. Pancras Roman Catholic Church is a beautiful church located in Harrow, NW London. The unique feature of this church building are the icon paintings located in the sanctuary, a rare spectacle within the churches in England, and especially since it is not an Orthodox Church. The icons are in the Byzantine style, showing therefore a relation between East and West, on an artistic basis at least. This could also be understood as a revival of the ancient English tradition of icons, which ceased in the Middle Ages, where statues were introduced, which prevailed, until this day, in the West.
