OTRF 2014 Conference on Women's Ministries in the Orthodox Church

Orthodox Theological Research Forum
Inspiration from Time: Women’s Ministries in the Orthodox Church
8-10 September 2014
High Leigh Conference Centre, Lord Street, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, EN11 8SG

The Orthodox Theological Research Forum allows, through its conferences, for the Orthodox theologians from the UK and abroad to discuss the topics of interest and to publish / publicise their researches. By choosing the topic of women’s ministries for the year 2014 we a. Open the discussion on the very up-to-date (if not overdue) subject and b. Allow the best Orthodox scholars, such as Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, Prof Andrew Louth, Dr Mary Cunningham, Fr Ephrem Lash and others to contribute to this significant and current subject.
The second outcome of this conference is to support and highlight the initiative on women’s ministries in the Orthodox Church. This conference, therefore, will give a solid academic and ecclesiastical foundation, identifying current positions on this important topic, not only within the Orthodox Church but also in relations to other denominations within Christianity, allowing the participants to get involved in this enterprise. The examination of this theme will, inevitably, place it within modern Orthodox circles.
The speakers will include: Metropolitan Kallistos Ware (Oxford), Fr Andrew Louth (Durham University), Professor Kate Cooper (Manchester University), Fr Eprhem Lash, Dr Mary Cunningham (Nottingham University), Fr Andreas Andreopoulos (Winchester University), Fr Kirill Zinkovskiy (Russia), Fr Methodiy Zinkovskiy (Russia), Ms Zoya Dashevskaya (Dean, St Philaret Institute, Moscow), Ms Lidia Kroshkina, Dr Jim Nelson (Valparaiso University, USA), Mr Michael Sarni, Justin Meggit (Cambridge), Dr Elena Vasilescu (Oxford University), Mr Dimitris Salapatas (Winchester University).
Further information may be found on the web-site of the Orthodox Theological Research Forum, at the following address: http://otrf.webplus.net/ and our Facebook page: Orthodox Theological Research Forum (OTRF).
