The Temple of Life

Walking around the city of Zakynthos, on the Greek Ionian island of Zante, I came across this very interesting ‘Temple of Life’. There is no explanation to why this exists here, in such a way. But for me this symbolised a hymn to life, whereby the tree (symbolising life) is embraced by four Corinthian columns, symbolising culture, civilisation and Hellenism. Therefore, a poetic understanding of this picture allowed me to name it the ‘Temple of Life’.
