St Christopher and the Medieval Londoners

St Christopher is the patron Saint of travel and travellers. However, walking around the Museum of London I came across an interesting fact. Medieval Londoners believed whoever shall behold the image of St. Christopher shall not faint or fall on that day, so statues of the Saint were placed at the entrances of houses and churches, and by bridges around the English capital.
