The Resistance Flag Monument Statue, Prague

In the southern part of Public Park in Prague, Klarov, one can find the Resistance Flag Monument Statue, symbolising the second resistance movement to the Nazi occupation of the Czechoslovakia from 1938 to 1945. It also has an inscription stating: ‘Stay a moment in respect for the victims and winners of the Second resistance of the Czech nation for liberty of the homeland.’

In regards to the flag, the colours used in the Czech Republic flag are the traditional colours of Bohemia, taken from the Bohemian coats of arms. The white colour represents the peaceful and honest nature of the people of the Czech Republic; red symbolises valour, courage, and the noble patriotic spirit of the people; blue represent the Czech virtues of vigilance, truth, loyalty and perseverance.
