The Greek island of Lesvos, right
opposite Asia Minor, modern day Turkey, honours the ‘Asia Minor Mother’, a
statue dedicated to the mother figure from Asia Minor, who came to Greece after
the population exchange between Greece and Turkey. The mother figure maintains
always a soft spot for everyone; therefore, it was only right that the Greeks
who came from the opposite coast, due to an international treaty, would show
their respect and honour to the mother figure.
