The Twelve Apostles Greek
Orthodox Church in Hertfordshire[1]
was blessed with the arrival for a few days (last weekend of October) of the
relic of the right hand of St George. This relic arrived to Britain from the
Xenofontos Monastery (Mount Athos).
The relic was accompanied by the Abbot of
the Monastery Fr Alexios, together with a number of monks, Moses, Zosimas and
Jeremiah. The relics were received by His Eminence Gregorios, Archbishop of
Thyateira and Great Britain. Many services took place in honour of this visit,
in order for the faithful to receive the blessings of St George.
Well, St George is the Patron Saint of England!
