London Greek Film Festival 2011

The forth annual London Greek Film Festival has opened its doors at the Westbourne Studios in Nottinghill, (the exact address is 242 Acklam Road, Notting Hill, London W10 5JJ). The Film Festival will take place in London from the 17th until the 25th of October 2011.
Contemporary feature, short films, experimental films, animation, documentaries, video art and scripts will be shown during the festival. Although Greece is experiencing  financial and political problems, the festival's aim is to emphasise the country's other face, i.e. a country which is optimistic and creative.

The screenings will be accompanied by the workshops, as well as many opportunities for networking and entertainment, which will climax with the arranged party on the 23rd of October at Mythopolis, in Angel.
A documentary that will stand out is that of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus with Melina Merkouri (1975), making its world premiere in film theatre.
The festival will finish on the 25th October, with the Odysseus Awards ceremony at Westbourne Studios. To see more details and the program you can visit the site.
