Saint Nicholas Church, Pyrgos

Saint Nicholas Church is located in the centre of the city of Pyrgos, Southern Greece. It is the Metropolitan church of the city. This church has been through numerous catastrophes. In 1885 it was destroyed by an earthquake, whilst the first efforts to rebuild began in May 1889. In 1904 the city of Pyrgos decided to donate 4 thousand drachmas in order to complete the building of the church. It was eventually consecrated in 1906 by the local Metropolitan.
