Let banks go bankrupt?

This is merely one interview given during the last Davos meeting of the President of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, who explains the paradigm of his country, in regards to the current economic crisis. It is refreshing to identify that there are other views and other solutions to the modern capitalistic failure.

  1. Personally I think departure from the single currency and default along the Icelandic model is the only way for Greece (and the other southern European countries who are headed in the same direction) to get out of continual decline, indebtednes, and the servitude that brings with it; not to mention the restoration of independence, functioning democracy, and dignity.

  2. I totally agree with you. However, this needs serious and brave politicians, in order for this to happen.!

  3. A brave public too! The Greek people voted against a return to the drachma last time they had the choice. Understandably, since it's a painful remedy, even if it might be the only one.
