The Invisible Homeless

This social experiment was organised by the New York Rescue Mission, using unsuspecting people who walked by their relatives pretending to be homeless. This video shows exactly how the homeless have become invisible. Despite the homeless existing in most if not all the metropolises in the world, it seems that we have become immune to this site. We hardly look at them, speak to them, greet them, and help them. However, how would we feel if they were our relatives? Would we change our views we have for these people? Have these people truly become invisible to our reality, to our modern, ‘progressive’, digital society, which boasts about wealth, morals and ethics? Should we rethink the way we live? Should we become more of a community than individuals?
