One of the artistic
characteristics of the Orthodox Church, found in a number of Greek islands,
Constantinople and Macedonia - Northern Greece – (to name a few) is the stone
art work found normally on the grounds of the Church, whether they are on the
floor or on the walls. These artistic works primarily depict the cross, the
symbol of Christ (XP), a fish, or any of the ancient Christian symbols. Below
are a number of examples from Aegina, the island where Saint Nectarios was
Bishop, where he lived and where he eventually died.
